appliance to the power supply. Always unplug and wait until the appliance cooled
down, before cleaning or moving the appliance or disassembling any parts.
Always keep the working space clean and dry. Do not pour or spill any liquids on or
under the appliance. Do not place clothes or similar materials on or under the appli-
ance during operation. If any liquid has been spilled on the appliance, immediately
unplug the appliance. Thereafter clean the appliance according to the instructions
in chapter ›Care and Cleaning‹.
BEFORE FIRST USE
CAUTION:
Do not immerse the base of the appliance or power cord in any liquids
or pour or spill liquids on/in it. Do not use any abrasive cleaners, cleaning pads
(e.g. metal scouring pads), or any corrosive cleaners (e.g. disinfectants, chemical
bleach, highly alkaline cleaners) for cleaning. Do not use any hard or sharp-edged
objects for cleaning the appliance.
1. Unpack all parts and accessories. Remove and discard all promotional labels,
stickers, and packaging materials attached to your new coffee brewer, but do not
remove the model label. Ensure you have found all parts and accessories before dis-
carding the packaging. Ensure that the appliances and all parts are undamaged.
Risk of choking! Always ensure that young children do not play with any
parts or accessories or the packaging!
2. Wipe the exterior stainless steel housing with a soft, damp cloth. Wash the bean
hopper and lid, coffee basket, gold tone filter, and carafe in warm, soapy water
using a soft cloth. See: ›Care and Cleaning‹.
3. Rinse the parts and accessories of the appliance and dry all parts and the appli-
ance thoroughly.
4. Place the appliance on an appropriate working space near a suitable wall
power outlet. See: ›Important Safeguards for Electrical Appliances‹.
Before Each Use
Important:
We do not recommend the use of highly filtered, de-mineralized or distilled water
as this may affect the taste of the coffee and how the coffee brewer is designed to
work. Use clear tap water or low-mineral table water.
1. Install the bean hopper.
Position the bean hopper onto the opening of the grinder. Turn the locking
knob clockwise in the direction of the LOCK arrow until it clicks. Fill the bean
hopper with fresh beans. We recommend always keeping the bean hopper
