5.9.1 Alu 2P and Alu 3P (HWM) weight
modes:
5.9.1.1 Using the gauge arm
Refer to Figure 5.22.
The gauge arm must be used to apply the stick-on
weight(s).
Index the wheel to the exact position for correction
—
in the right correction plane.
Once the correct weight application position is reached,
only the central LED is on
Press the pedal of the main shaft lock to hold the
—
wheel in this position.
Decide to use Split Weight Mode «SWM» now (
Clean the fi tting position before attaching the
—
adhesive weights.
Insert at the centre of the gauge arm an
—
adhesive weight that complies with the imbalance
measured and remove the protective tape from
the adhesive strip (a, Figure 5-24).
Note: While moving the arm, a beep indicate that the
correct application position has been reached.
• Apply the weight to the correct point on the rim.
• Rotate the wheel to the next WAP position (2, Fig.
5.23), put the stick-on weight on the gauge arm and
apply the weight at the left plane reference point.
• Perform a Test Run.
5.9.1.2 Using the Laser Pointer
In Alu 2P and Alu 3P modes the correction planes for
adhesive weights are precisely indicated by the laser
pointer directly on the rim.
When the indication is given by the laser,

the weight must not be fi tted at 12 o'clock,
but at the bottom of the rim, precisely
where indicated by the pointer.
When a spin is completed correctly the display shows
the correction values and the position where the
weights must be fi tted.
To make the corrections,
• Select an adhesive weight of the indicated size and
adjust it to the wheel radius by bending.
• If necessary, index the wheel precisely into the
correction position for the left plane.
• Press the pedal of the main shaft lock to hold the
wheel in this position.
• Clean the fitting position before attaching the
adhesive weights.
• Fit the balancing weight and firmly press the
adhesive weight onto the rim (Figure 5-24b).
• Fit the second adhesive weight in the same manner.
