4. Wait until the LED on the camera shows steady
green.
During the boot process, the color of the LED
changes multiple times before it eventually lights
up green.
ð If no network cable is connected, or if the net-
work is not correctly configured, the LED
flashes red every five seconds. In this case,
check the network configuration.
5. Attach the connection cable of the ECBPi to the ro-
bot arm.
6 Start of Operations
6.1 Starting up the Camera/Projector Unit
The rc_visard features a Gigabit Ethernet interface for connecting the device to a computer network. All communi-
cation to and from the device takes place via this interface.
1. Open rcdiscover-gui.exe (on the USB stick or download at
https://github.com/roboception/rcdiscover/releases)
ð After start-up, the camera is listed with its name, serial number, current IP address and unique MAC ad-
dress.
ð If the camera is connected, this is indicated by a tick in the "Reachable" column.
2. If an X appears in the "Reachable" column in rcdiscover, or if the corresponding field is blank, proceed as fol-
lows:
Check or set a static PC IP address under Windows: Settings -> Network & Internet -> Network and Sharing
Center -> Local Area Connection -> Properties-> Internet Protocol Version 4 -> Use the following IP address
Set an IP address (e.g. 192.168.0.20) and SubNet mask (e.g. 255.255.255.0)
Confirm with OK
In rcdiscover-gui, click "Set temporary IP address". Change the IP address and Subnet mask according to
the IP specifications (in this case using 192.168.0.21 and 255.255.255.0). Enter the MAC address specified on
the camera type plate. Click "Set temporary IP address".
Once start-up of the camera has been completed, we recommend resetting the computer IP address to the
original value or selecting "Obtain an IP address automatically".
The camera is now detected in rcdiscovery. The web browser opens automatically when you double-click
the row for the camera. You can also access the camera by entering the IP address in the web browser.
You can permanently change the IP address under System -> Network.
A static IP address is recommended for use with the UniversalRobot.
Double-click the device row to open the Web GUI.
6.2 Activating the License
ü The activation code is on-hand. It is sent to the customer via e-mail immediately after delivery.
1. Request the license using the activation code and MAC address (specified on the type plate on the back of the
camera) at: https://roboception.com/rc/activation
ð The license file is provided via e-mail.
2. Transfer the license file to the computer connected to the camera.
3. Activate the license in the Web GUI under: System -> Licence -> Update Licence
4. Click Open to upload the file
5. Restart the camera: System -> Software Update -> Reboot
