Maintenance and care
Dangers during maintenance!
During all maintenance work:
■
Switch off the engine and remove the ignition
key.
■
Remove the spark plug connector(s).
■
Any protective devices removed for mainte-
nance must be reinstalled after finishing the
work.
■
DANGER OF BURNS:
Work on the appliance only when it has
cooled down. The engine, gearbox and si-
lencer get very hot!
■
DANGER OF LACERATIONS:
When working on the cutting tools, pay atten-
tion to the sharp blades. In the case of cutting
tools with multiple blades, moving one cutting
tool can cause another cutting tool to move
as well.
■
Use only OEM spare parts when replacing
parts.
■
If in doubt, always visit a specialist workshop
or contact the manufacturer.

Holding socket for attachments (30)
After every use:
1. Cleaning the holding socket (30/1).
2. Pump a small amount of commercially avail-
able multi-purpose grease into the holding
socket via the grease nipple (30/2).
7.2
Travel drive gearbox – Checking and
topping up the transmission oil (31)
IMPORTANT! Danger of gearbox damage. In-
sufficient transmission oil will result in increased
wear of the gearbox.
■
Check the oil level in the gearbox at regular
intervals!
■
If the oil level is low, top up with transmission
oil immediately!
Required oil grade and quantity: see Technical
Data.
1. Turn the appliance onto its side.
2. Press out the cotter pin in the wheel shaft
and take off the wheel.
3. Unscrew the oil filler plug (31/1).
4. Check the oil level: The oil must be up to the
lower edge of the filler opening.
5. If the oil level is too low: Top up with trans-
mission oil.
6. Screw in the oil filler plug again.

Engine maintenance
NOTE Observe the enclosed operating in-
structions for the engine!

essary.
■
Clean or replace the spark plug.
■
Clean the air filter or replace, if necessary.

Adjusting Bowden cables (32, 33)
The attachment and the travel drive may only
start moving when the lever has moved through
half of its travel. Otherwise the Bowden cables
must be adjusted.
Attachment (32)
Bowden cable without lock nut (32/1).
Travel drive (33)
1. Loosen lock nut (33/1) of the Bowden cable.
2. Adjust the tension of the Bowden cable at the
adjusting screw.
3. Re-tighten the lock nut.
7.5
Removing and installing the scythe
attachment (34, 35)
Standard scythe attachment (34, 35)
1. Loosen bolts (34/1).
2. Remove sliding block (34/2) to the front (34/a).
3. Loosen nuts (35/1) on the guides (35/2) of
the mowing blades.

screws slightly.
5. Pull out the mower blades to the side.
6. Install the mower blades again in the reverse
order.
Note: When reinstalling the sliding block
(34/2), the protruding lug must be facing in
the direction of travel!
Adjusting the cutting clearance/contact
pressure (35)
1. Screw in the grub screws (35/3) by hand until
resistance is felt. Then turn each screw one
further half turn.
2. Secure the grub screws with a locknut.
3. After adjustment, check that the mower blade
can still be moved freely by hand.
■
If necessary, adjust the cutting clearance.
