Pushing the appliance (26)

1. Shift the gearbox to position 0 (idle) with the
gear shift lever.

6 OPERATION

WARNING! Risk of injury due to detach-
ing appliance parts. Appliance parts detaching
during operation can lead to serious injury.
Before turning the appliance on, check that
all the parts of the appliance are firmly tight-
ened.
Attach cutting tools so that they cannot de-
tach during operation.
6.1

Starting the engine (27, 28)

Precondition: The clutch levers for travel drive
and the attachments must not be activated when
starting the engine!
1. Move throttle lever (27/1) to the START posi-
tion (27/a).
2. Pull the starter cable (28/1) out briskly (28/a),
and then allow it to wind back in slowly (28/b).
3. As soon as the engine is running, move the
throttle lever to a position between START
and STOP, depending on the desired engine
speed.
4. When working with an attachment, move the
throttle lever to the START position (full throt-
tle).
NOTE If the engine has stopped due to a
lack of fuel, refill with fuel and restart the engine
again.

Engaging attachment and travel drive

Precondition: The engine is running.
Engaging the attachment
Engage the attachment for: Scythe attachment,
front scythe mower mechanism, tiller, sweeper.
1. Swivel operator presence control (29/1)
away.
2. Push attachment clutch lever (29/2) fully
down and hold it there (29/a).
NOTE The attachment may only start mov-
ing when the lever has moved through half of its
travel. Otherwise adjust the Bowden cable (see
chapter 7.4 "Adjusting Bowden cables (32, 33)",
page 25).

Engaging travel drive
Precondition: The attachment is engaged.
IMPORTANT! Risk of gearbox damage! En-
gaging a gear with the travel drive clutch lever
fully depressed will result in damage to the gear-
box.
Shift gears with the gear shift lever only when
the travel drive clutch lever is pressed until
you feel a noticeable resistance.
1. Press release lever (29/3).
2. Pull the travel drive clutch lever (29/4) to-
wards the handlebar only until you notice a
resistance (29/b).
3. Move the throttle lever to the STOP position.
Caution! Never shift gears under load, i.e. at
full throttle.
4. Move the gear shift lever (23/1) the desired
direction of travel until the respective gear is
engaged.
1: Forward drive
0: Idle
R: Reverse
5. After engaging the gear: Pull the travel drive
clutch lever completely up to the handlebar
and hold it there.
NOTE The travel drive may only engage
when the lever has moved through half of its trav-
el. Otherwise adjust the Bowden cable see chap-
ter 7.4 "Adjusting Bowden cables (32, 33)",
page 25.

Switching off the appliance

1. Release the travel drive clutch lever.
The travel drive is switched off.
2. Release the attachment clutch lever.
The attachment is switched off.
3. Move the throttle lever to the STOP position.
The engine is switched off.

7 MAINTENANCE AND CARE

CAUTION! Risk of injury. Sharp-edged and
moving appliance parts can lead to injury.
Always wear protective gloves during mainte-
nance, care and cleaning work!
Pull off the spark plug connector before start-
ing any maintenance or care work!
