so make sure that the saw blade is flush with the workpiece.
Cut with a smooth motion.
CUTTING BY CUTTING INTO THE MATERIAL
Disconnect the saw from the power supply before adjusting.
• Set the desired depth of cut corresponding to the thickness of the
material to be cut.
• Angle the saw so that the front edge of the saw foot is against the
material to be cut and the 0
the line of the intended cut.
• Once the saw is in position to start cutting, raise the bottom guard
(9) using the bottom guard lever (3) (saw blade raised above the
material).
• Start the power tool and wait until the cutting disc reaches full
speed.
• Gradually lower the saw by plunging the cutting disc into the
material (during this movement, the front edge of the saw foot
should be in contact with the surface of the material).
• When the cutting disc starts to cut, release the bottom guard.
• When the saw foot rests with its entire surface on the material,
continue cutting by moving the saw forward.
• Never reverse the saw with the cutting disc spinning as this may
result in back kickback.
• Complete the cut in the reverse direction of its start by rotating
the saw around the line of contact between the front edge of the
saw foot and the workpiece.
• Allow the saw blade to come to a complete stop before pulling
the power tool out of the material.
• If there is a need to do so, finish off the corner work with a saw
blade or hand saw.
CUTTING OR SEVERING LARGE PIECES OF MATERIAL
When cutting through large panels of material or boards, support
them properly to avoid possible jerking of the cutting disc (recoil
phenomenon) due to the disc jamming in the material.
• Support the board or plank close to the cutting area.
• Ensure that the setting of the cutting disc ensures that the
workbench or support is not damaged during the cutting
operation.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the power cord from the mains socket before carrying
out any installation, adjustment, repair or operation.
• Ensure that the ventilation openings in the saw housing are
always unobstructed and free of dust deposits. All chainsaw
controls should also always be clean. If necessary, clean them
with a brush. Use compressed air for the most effective cleaning.
When using compressed air, always wear splash goggles and a
protective mask. Do not clean ventilation slots by inserting sharp
objects such as screwdrivers or the like.
• Do not use petrol, solvent or detergents for cleaning, which could
damage the plastic parts of the saw.
• If excessive sparking occurs on the motor commutator, the power
tool must be taken out of service and taken to a service workshop.
• During normal operation, the cutting disc will dull after some time.
A sign of a dull cut-off wheel is the need to apply more pressure
when moving the saw while cutting. If the cutting wheel is found
to be damaged, it must be replaced immediately.
• The cutting disc should always be kept sharp.
REPLACING THE SAW BLADE
• Using the spanner provided, loosen the cut-off wheel fixing screw
(8) by turning counterclockwise.
• To prevent the saw spindle from rotating, lock the spindle with the
spindle lock button (10) (fig. D) while unscrewing the cut-off
wheel fixing screw.
• Remove the outer flange washer (7).
• Using the lower guard lever (3), move the lower guard (9) so that
it retracts as far as possible into the upper guard (2) (at this time,
check the condition and function of the spring that pulls off the
lower guard).
• Push the cutting disc out through the slot in the saw foot (5).
• Position the new cutting disc in a position where the alignment of
the teeth of the cutting disc and the arrow on it fully corresponds
to the direction shown by the arrow on the bottom guard.
• Insert the cutting disc through the slot in the saw foot and install
it on the spindle, following the reverse order of the removal
procedure.
0
mark for perpendicular cutting is on
Take care to install the cutting disc with the teeth aligned in the
correct direction.
The direction of rotation of the power tool spindle is shown by
an arrow on the saw housing.
CHANGING THE CARBON BRUSHES
Worn (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or broken motor carbon brushes
must be replaced immediately. Always replace both brushes at the
same time.
• Unscrew the brush covers (16) (fig. E).
• Remove the worn brushes.
• Remove any carbon dust, using compressed air.
• Insert the new carbon brushes (fig. F) (the brushes should slide
freely into the brush holders).
• Fit the brush covers (16).
After replacing the brushes, run the power tool without load
and wait a little until the brushes fit into the motor commutator.
Only a qualified person should replace the carbon brushes
using original parts.
Any defects should be repaired by the manufacturer's authorised
service.
