12.2.1
Gasifier setting
• If the set of blade and saw chain moves at idle or the
engine stops by itself when the throttle is released, a
carburettor adjustment must be made.
Note:
Have carburettor adjustments (e.g. idle speed) carried out
only by qualified specialists to avoid engine damage.
12.2.2
Replacing the thread coil (22)
(Fig. 13-17)
1. Remove the coil capsule (11) as described in 8.3.
2. Open the coil capsule (11) by pressing the release
(11b) on the coil capsule (11) and turning the cover
(11a) in the "OFF" direction.
3. Remove the cover (11a) with the trigger (22a) and lift
the thread coil (22) off the pressure spring (11c).
4. Pull the thread ends of the thread coil (22) out of the
thread outlet eyelets (22d).
5. Remove all thread remnants from the coil capsule
(11).
6. Take the new thread coil (22) and pull out 10 cm of
both trimming lines.
7. Thread the two thread ends from the inside through
one of the thread outlet eyelets (22d) of the coil cap-
sule (11).
8. Insert the new thread coil (22) onto the pressure
spring (11c) in the coil capsule (11).
The side of the thread coil (22) on which the direction
of rotation is specified by arrows must not be visible
after insertion.
9. Press the release (11b) and place the cover (11a) with
the release (22a) back onto the coil capsule (11).
Make sure that the notches on the coil capsule (11)
are aligned with the recesses on the cover (11a).
10. When all the notches are in position, turn the cover
(11a) towards "ON".
Notes:
So that new thread is fed in, press the trigger (22a) the
thread coil (22) firmly on the floor with the engine running
(Fig. 10).
If the thread is initially longer than the cutting circle speci-
fied, it is automatically shortened to the correct length by
the thread cutter (12c).
12.2.3
Replacing the thread in the thread
coil (22) (Fig. 13-17)
Alternatively, the thread on the thread coil (22) can also
be replaced.
1. Disassemble the coil capsule (11) as described under
8.3.
5. Remove all thread remnants from the coil capsule (11)
and the thread coil (22).

6. Bend the new thread in the middle (at approx. 1.5 me-
tres) and insert the bent part of the thread into one of
the notches (22c) of the thread coil (22).
There must now be one thread end in the lower cham-
ber and one in the upper chamber of the thread coil
(22).
7. Wind the two halves of the thread in each chamber of
the thread coil (22) in the direction of the arrow until
approx. 10 cm of both thread ends remain.
8. Thread the two thread ends from the inside through
one thread outlet eyelet (22d) of the coil capsule (11)
at a time.
9. Proceed further as described under 12.2.2.
12.2.4
The thread cutter (12c) can become blunt over time.
1. If you notice this, loosen the two screws with which
the thread cutter (12c) is attached to the protective
cover (12).
Use a Phillips screwdriver*.
2. Then fasten the thread cutter (12c) in a bench vice*.
3. Grind the cutting edge of the thread cutter (12c) using
a flat file* and make sure to maintain the angle of the
cutting edge.
4. Refit the thread cutter (12c) onto the protective cover
(12).
Note:
Replace or sharpen the thread cutter (12c) at the end of
each mowing season or as needed.
12.2.5
Note:
If the blades become slightly dull, you can sharpen them
yourself.
1. Remove the cutting blade (13) as described in 8.4.
2. Fasten the cutting blade (13) in a bench vice*.
3. Grind all 3 blades of the cutting blade (13) using a flat
file* and make sure to maintain the angle of the cut-
ting edge (~25°). Only file in one direction.
4. Replace it after resharpening the cutting edge five
times at the latest.
Replace the cutting blade (13) if the cutting edge is heavi-
ly worn or broken.
An unbalanced cutting blade (13) causes the product to
vibrate strongly; this poses a danger of injury!

13 Storage and transport

13.1
Storage
DANGER
Risk of fire and explosion!
Storing the product near potential sources of ignition
can result in a fire or an explosion. This can lead to se-
vere burns or death.
Eliminate possible sources of ignition, such as fur-
naces, hot water boilers with gas, gas dryers, etc.
