Danger of electric shock: disconnect the power supply by pulling the mains plug and wait
for the discharge time of the capacitors (about 4 minutes).
Cleaning the outside
Cleaning is done with a soft, damp cloth. Sharp cleaning agents must not be used in order
to avoid damage to surface and control panel.
Cleaning inside
Unscrew the cover plate. Clean assemblies as follows:
- Blow off power source with oil- and water-free compressed air.
-- vacuum electronic components only with a vacuum cleaner, DO NOT use compressed air
--- if a water cooler is used: check coolant for contamination and replace if necessary
-> If degreasing agents are necessary, they must be suitable for electrical equipment.
Maintenance
Check system for damaged wires and loose connections, remove any defects that have
occurred. After maintenance is completed, screw housing plate back on.
Inspection
Attention: The proper performance of the test according to IEC/DIN EN 60974-4 "Arc
welding equipment - Inspection and testing" is a prerequisite for your warranty claim!
Repair and maintenance work may only be carried out by trained, authorized personnel,
otherwise the warranty claim will become void!
Auxiliary equipment and attachments (e.g. cooling units, wire feed units, welding torches,
ground cables, foot pedals) should be inspected together with the welding power source.
Some aspects, such as insulation and protective conductor resistance, can also be tested in
this way. This ensures that the sum of the leakage currents from the welding current
source, additional equipment and attachments remains within the limit values.
The following describes the complete test of the welding device. If additional devices or
attachments are to be tested individually, the test points must be adapted accordingly.
The test is carried out in accordance with IEC / DIN EN 60974-4 "Arc welding equipment -
Inspection and testing" in compliance with the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health.
This internationally valid standard is specific to arc welding equipment.
Due to the special circumstances of inverter arc welding equipment, not all test equipment
can be used to the full extent for testing according to VDE 0702. Suitable test equipment
and measuring instruments comply with VDE 0404-2, which evaluates the frequency
response according to DIN EN 61010-1 Annex A - Measuring circuit A1. The welding
equipment must be tested in accordance with the IEC / DIN EN 60974-4 standard and with
the appropriate test equipment and measuring instruments. The following description of
the test is only a brief overview of the points to be tested. For details on the test points or
for questions of understanding, please read IEC / DIN EN 60974-4.
