Stop welding
When you release the button on the torch, the power supply and wire feed are switched
off and the gas supply is automatically closed.
Accessories torch/recommended welding wire
As a consumable starter set for the torch type MB 150 we recommend the WELDINGER
MAGSet1 (article 4191).
WELDINGER wire electrodes have proven to give good welding results. The following
welding wires are available as 1 kg rolls and are ideal for use with the MEW 161 SYN eco:
- Gas shielded welding wire SGII 0.6 mm (article 2202)
- Gas shielded welding wire SGII 0.8 mm (article 2203)
- Flux cored wire 0,8 mm (Article 9857)
- Flux cored wire 0,9 mm (Article 10644)
MAG welding with flux cored wire (NoGas)
The unit is also suitable for operation with self-protecting flux cored wire. Some customers
shy away from purchasing a gas cylinder with regulator at the beginning of their welding
career, others want to weld with the unit outdoors and in windy conditions. For this
purpose, flux cored wire has proven itself many times. This wire is usually offered with a
diameter of 0.8 or 0.9 mm. Unfortunately, it is currently only available for normal steel.
The MEW 161 SYN eco is equipped with a 0,6/0.8 mm wire guide roller as standard, so that
you can weld both flux cored wire diameters. Make sure to use a 0.9 mm (art. no. 2569) or
1 mm (art. no. 25610) flux cored nozzle for 0.9 mm flux cored wire and, if used regularly,
also a special flux cored wire gas nozzle (art. no. 8949).
Since flux cored welding is done without shielding gas, this gas is missing to cool the torch.
Therefore, the torch MUST be reversed. Flux cored wire is welded with the torch on (-) and
with the earth on (+).
To do this, connect reversed pole cable (8) to the negative pole (9). The earth cable must
now be connected to the positive pole (6). Then select flux-cored welding/no gas welding
via the setting knob (4).
