8. Installation of the battery

For a well balanced weight distribution it is recommended to locate the battery either on an
already designated support plate on the chassis behind the driver's seat or in the left side box
beside the driver's seat. For proper attachment a fixture for the battery, see figure 5, pos. 14, will
be offered by Rotax as an accessory (Rotax part no. 251 120).
On installation of the battery, proceed as follows:
At the chosen location for the battery mark and cut a rectangular opening of 152 mm x 73 mm
in the top of the left sidebox; using a jig saw.
Place battery fixture into opening, mark the attachment holes on the box and drill 4 holes of
7 mm dia.
Attach fixture for battery with screws, washers and locknuts in the side box (see fig. 5).
For the routing of the wiring harness to the battery drill two 10 mm dia. holes in the left side
box. One hole above the front bracket for side box and the second hole in the middle in front
of the battery fixture.
Place battery into box with terminals on top.
Place top plate of battery fixture in position and attach with the nuts supplied.
Warning: Make absolutely sure to avoid short-circuiting of battery terminals. A short circuit
will ruin the battery and could cause an explosion.
