How to store an equalization curve.
After creating your own equalization curve, you can store it in one of
the memory recall switches.
Turn on EQUALIZER switch (10.
Use EQUALIZING CONTROL switches ©) to adjust sound.

the curve.

1. Turn on EQUALIZER switch (0.
2. Use PRESET/PGM switch (16 to select PGM.

3. Press a memory recall switch (® for the memory curve you wish
to recall.
Active loudness
This automatically boosts bass and treble depending on the volume level
setting of the amplifier. The lower the volume level, the greater the
effect. If the volume level is increased, the effect decreases. If the
volume is set around the middle level, the effect is O (flat). Even at low
volume levels you can enjoy a powerful sound.
EFFECT CONTROL
Press ACTIVE LOUDNESS switch @) and ACT indicator lights.
The original equalization curve and the active loudness curve are
displayed for a few seconds. Display then returns to DISPLAY switch
@}) settings.
Press ACTIVE LOUDNESS switch again to cancel.
NOTE:
¢ During recording, you cannot use active loudness. Even if you start
recording with active loudness ON, it will switch OFF.
e /f the amplifier input selector is set to CD DIRECT, or DAT DIRECT,
the sound will not be affected by the graphic equalizer, so active
loudness and random equalizing will not operate.
Random equalizing
This automatically boosts and attenuates signals in each of the seven
frequency bands to create random equalization curves.
Press RANDOM EQUALIZING switch G), and RANDOM indicator
lights. At this time, the equalization characteristics are already set.
If you press another operation switch, for example REVERSE switch,
random equalizing is canceled.

By selecting from the four available effects and adjusting the effect level
with SOUNDJOG, you can create just the sound you want.
The following four effects are available.
VIVID
MILD
SHARP
WARM
1. Press EQUALIZER switch (0), and EQUALIZER indicator lights.
Adjust the sound using switches such as EQUALIZING CONTROL
switches ©).
SLEEP TIMER —— Automatically turns off power.
2. Press the desired switch among EFFECT MODE switches (7).
e The indicator for the selected effect lights in the display section.
3. Adjust the strength of the effect with SOUNDJOG dial.
¢ Turn to the right, and the effect is stronger. Turn to the left, and
it becomes weaker.
You can make adjustments while you are listening to get the sound
you are looking for.
NOTE:
e After you have selected an effect and made adjustments, you can
add other effects, which you can also adjust.
e After you have increased the strength of an effect, even if you
decrease the effect, it may not return to its original level. This also
applies to increasing the strength of an effect after having decreased
it.
Power is turned off automatically after your set time has elapsed.
When the sleep timer is operating, } SLEEP TIMER | is lit in the tuner
display section.
Each time you press SLEEP key, the setting changes in the sequence
shown here.
During playback:
