PARALLEL
RECORDING
(Only the CT-Z460WR has this function)
With this function, both decks start recording the same source at the
same time. Both decks must be in stop mode.
1. Load Deck I and Deck Il with tapes to be recorded to.
Make sure there is no tape slack.
¢ Parallel recording begins from the forward direction (—).
. Set DOLBY NR switch (3) to the desired position.
. Select REV MODE switch (0.

Deck Il.

NOTE:
¢ /f the accidental erasure prevention tabs of the side A on either tape
cassette are broken off, recording will not begin when PARALLEL
Switch is pressed.
© After beginning recording, temporary stop (00), mute (Q), and stop
(C0) operate on both decks at the same time.
e During reverse recording, when the head rotates while the leader tape
is moving, recording temporarily stops.
e /f you use tapes of different length, recording stops when the shortest
tape ends, so it is recommended you use tapes of the same length.

With this function, deck Il starts recording
when
deck | finishes
recording. Both decks must be in stop mode.
1. Load Deck | and Deck II with tapes to be recorded to.
e Make sure there is no tape slack.
® In Deck Il, recording will be performed in the direction that is
presently indicated ( <1 or & ), so make sure the tape is loaded
correctly.
2. Set DOLBY NR switch (3 to the desired position.
3. Select REV MODE switch (10.
==. : When recording finishes on one side of the tape in Deck |,
recording will start on one side of the tape in Deck Il.

relay recording finishes on Deck |, relay
recording starts on Deck II. If recording starts in the
<1 direction, however, the tape doesn't reverse (the
tape doesn't reverse from <I to > on either of the
decks).

4. Use the input selector switch on the amplifier to select and play
the recording source.
. Press REC ( @ ) switch @) on Deck |
. Adjust the recording level with REC LEVEL control @.
. Press the appropriate PLAY (<1 or >) switch @) on Deck I.
e Recording starts on Deck |.
8. Press RELAY/SKIP switch (2).
9. To stop recording, press STOP ((_)) switch on the deck recording.
¢ If you press STOP switch during recording on Deck I, RELAY/SKIP
indicator stays lit.

To use the graphic equalizer, first set the BASS control and TREBLE
control to the center (flat) position of the amplifier.
1. Turn on EQUALIZER switch (0.

2. Use EQUALIZING CONTROL switches ©) to adjust sound.
e Left and right channels are adjusted simultaneously.
How to recall a factory preset equalization curve.
This unit has five factory presets.
HEAVY:
for rock and other popular music; emphasizes bass and treble.
CLEAR:
for electronic music, fusion, and other genres where you want
a clear sound with strong midrange and treble characteristics.
SOFT: _ ideal when listening to such genres as background music for
extended periods of time.
VISUAL:
ideal when enjoying a movie or sports programs, where you
want
a sound
field
with
strong
midrange
and
treble
characteristics.
VOCAL:
acurve for listening to vocals including operas and musicals.

e Press so that PRESET indicator lights.
3. Press a memory recall switch (5 for the preset curve you wish to
recall.
