MAINTENANCE

Rowing machines do not need much maintenance, but something is needed. Regular inspections should be
done weekly. Cleaning and drying the outside of the machine should be done after each training session.
Lubrication of chains and turning points and cleaning the flywheel are other maintenance points that should
be carried out when necessary.

1. Prevention
It is good to start with some preventive measures, so that you can possibly reduce some of the need for
maintenance.
Put a training mat under the rower. This prevents it from moving and damages the floor.
Place the rower on a flat surface. This prevents putting too much pressure on one side of the moving parts
that can damage them. It is also more comfortable.
These basic things can prevent wear and at the same time make the machine more comfortable to use.
2. Inspect
About once a week, inspect the machine for damage or something that is wrong.
Check the following:
Sliding rail for dirt and damage.
Check if the seat slides smoothly.
Check that all bolts are tight.
Check the chain/strap/cord for damage and whether it is still attached to the machine and securely
fastened.
Check if the resistance is even and that there are no abnormal sounds.
3. Cleaning
It is good to dry the rower after each use. Wipe away sweat on the machine.
Sweat attracts dirt, dust and possibly bacteria. In addition, sweat is more correum than water, so leaving it
on the machine for too long can cause damage.
Wipe the surfaces of your rowing machine with a damp cloth and any mild detergent or glass cleaner. Do
not use very aggressive chemical cleaners, because it can damage the surfaces.
4. Monorail
One very important maintenance point that requires regular attention is the rail on which the seat runs.
Wipe the rail with a non-abrasive cloth and soap or glass cleaner. Do not use correping or abrasive
chemicals. Be sure to move around the seat to get to all the parts.
Check the movement of the seat, that it moves smoothly and without noises, bumps and uneven sections.
