3.4 Information on the bacterial filter and the adapter for disposable
secretion canister system
The bacterial filter or the adapter for disposable secretion canister system is located
between the vacuum generator and the disposable secretion canister system.
The bacterial filter must be used when the reusable secretion canister system is connected. It
is made of a hydrophilic (self-sealing) material and is effective against bacteria and viruses. It
effectively protects the vacuum generator from overflow and contamination.
The bacterial filter is only intended for reuse on one patient.
The bacterial filter must be replaced each time a new patient uses the device (see section 4.2.2),
in case of troubles (see section 6) or during maintenance / repair.
The adapter for disposable secretion canister system can be identified by the inscription
"no filter / kein Filter" (Fig. 3) and may only be used with the disposable secretion canister system,
as the adapter itself does not have a filter. The bacteria filter is located in the lid of the disposable
liner "OneWay". This effectively protects the vacuum generator from overflow.
The adapter for disposable secretion canister system must be replaced each time a new
patient uses the device (see section 4.2.2) or during maintenance / repair.

3.5 Reusable secretion canister system for ASSKEA proVisio

secretion aspirator
The reusable secretion canister system consists of the secretion canister, the lid for the secretion
canister incl. overflow protection (see Fig. 3) and the suction tube with fingertip.
The overflow protection consists of a flexible plastic holder and a ball which is inserted into the
plastic holder. The ball floats upwards in the holder when the canister is full and closes the
transition from the upper part of the lid to the secretion aspirator. Thus, the suction process is
interrupted. The buttons Low, Medium and High of the control panel light up red. Overflow of the
ASSKEA proVisio ® M28 secretion aspirator is thus prevented. The reusable secretion canister
must be emptied and cleaned according to section 5.2.2.
