INSTRUCTIONS FOR CORRECT
AND SAFE AFTERCARE
Make sure that the nursing staff and the patient and/or caring relatives are adequately
instructed in the use of the product with regard to the functioning and control of the balloon
indicator, the care instructions and the important information and the associated risks.
USING SYRINGES
(Tube fl ushing, administration
of feed and fl uids, etc.)
• Always use a 20 or 60 ml ENFit™ syringe to fl ush the tube. It may be necessary to use a smaller
syringe in paediatric patients, depending on body weight. This is at the discretion of the treating
physician.
• When administering fl uids, make sure that the syringe used is suitable for the volume to be
administered.
• The tube should be fl ushed and fl uids should be administered in a controlled manner and
without too high a pressure. Never exert excessive force under any circumstances. If resistance
is felt, discontinue the procedure and consult your physician.
• Boiled tap water cooled to body temperature is suitable for fl ushing. Alternatives include still
mineral water, fresh tap water with drinking water quality or sterile water.
