PLACEMENT METHOD
• To unlock the introducer from the

split cannula, turn the introducer
counterclockwise (Fig. 1) and then
pull it upwards (Fig. 2).
• Then remove the introducer by holding it

between your thumbs and index fi ngers
and break it apart by pressing down on
the fl anges from above.
• Carefully withdraw the split cannula from

the stoma (Fig. 1) and press on the fl anges
to break them off the split cannula (Fig. 2).
The balloon will remain under slight tension
in the stoma.
• Clean and dry the puncture site under
aseptic conditions.
Important note:
To ensure that the tube is securely retained
and to avoid complications, the tube must
be dry prior to placement of the external
retention disc.
