• Then advance the balloon tube through

the split cannula into the stomach until the
introducer marking reaches the introducer
(Fig. 1).
• At the same time, endoscopically monitor
that the tip of the tube with the folded
balloon is fully advanced through the split
cannula and is now completely inside the
stomach (Fig. 2).
Important note:
Do not infl ate the balloon until it is completely
inside the stomach because otherwise it could
be damaged.
• Use a Luer-Lock syringe to draw up 5 ml

sterile water, connect the syringe to the
balloon fi lling valve and fi ll the balloon.
• The balloon indicator will then move from
the red area to the end of the green or
beginning of the blue area.
Important note:
Remove the valve cap from the valve for
balloon fi lling (labelled "Balloon" on the tube)
and dispose of this. Do not screw the valve
cap back on after fi lling the balloon.
Only fi ll the balloon with the specifi ed amount
of water to avoid damage to the balloon
and possible accompanying symptoms or
inconvenience for the patient.
• When the Luer-Lock syringe is

disconnected from the connector on
the tube, the indicator will move back to
approx. the middle of the green area.
• The balloon is now fi lled optimally.
Important note:
If the balloon is defective, the indicator will
return to the red area. In this case, the tube
must be replaced.
