2.1

Device Description

The D4001 Procedure Cart is used to house arthroscopic equipment for single or multiple surgical specialties.
The cart is used to move/store arthroscopic equipment and other accessories required during a procedure. It is
comprised of shelves, storage drawer, IV pole, and cord wraps. The cart is equipped with three locking castors and 1
directional caster to prevent unwanted movement of the cart, and a handle for moving the cart. Refer to the D4001
Procedure Cart Operator's Manual (P000030963) for information related to installation, compatibility, and safety notices.

General Safety

WARNINGS
1. This equipment is designed for use by medical professionals completely familiar with the required
techniques and instructions for use of the equipment. Read and follow all warning and precautionary notices
and instructions marked on the product and included in this manual.
2. Use care when moving the cart.
3. Secure all equipment using included hardware.
4. Remove saline bags from hanger when moving cart on inclined surfaces, over bumps, power cords, elevator
doorways or thresholds.
5. Ensure the wheel locks are released and path is clear of obstacles.
6. When moving the cart, push, don't pull. Use handle only to move cart.
7. Lock the front wheel brakes when not in transport to prevent unexpected cart movement.
8. Use caution when moving cart on inclined surfaces, over bumps, power cords, elevator doorways or
thresholds.
9. Lock wheel brakes when not in transport. Release wheel brakes prior to transportation.
10. When installing the cart, tighten and securely connect each cart component (shelves, drawer, etc.) before
placing equipment or accessories to avoid risk of injury.
11. Only one console may be stacked on any shelf at all times.
12. Ensure IV pole is secure in bracket prior to use.
13. Maximum rated loads.
Saline bag hanger load not to exceed 30 lbs (13.6 kg); 6 lbs (2.72 kg). per hook
Shelf load not to exceed 50 lbs (22.7 kg)
Drawer load not to exceed 10 lbs (4.5 kg)
Total load not to exceed 300 lbs (136 kg).
14. No modification of this equipment is allowed.
15. D4001 Cart is recommended to have preventative maintenance done periodically. Failure to do routine
preventative maintenance may affect device performance.
PRECAUTIONS
1. Inspect the cart prior to each use to ensure proper function.
2. Do not use a damaged cart.
3. Check the wheels daily for possible buildup of materials gathered from the operating room floor.
4. Remove equipment from shelves prior to repositioning the shelves.
5. Distribute load evenly from bottom to top of cart for optimal stability.
6. Prescription Only - Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician
7. The D4001 Procedure Cart is not intended to be used with intravenous infusion equipment.
8. Do not directly spray the cart surfaces with cleaning agent. Fluid can cause corrosion.
