3 To ensure optimum function of the crampons (fas-
tening to the shoe and hold on the ground), the cor-
rect bracing system must be chosen for the type of
shoe used. Soft bracinng (3c): This type of crampon
bracing can be used on all shoes that are at least as
rigid as trekking boots. Semi bracing (3b): For this
type of crampon bracing the boots must have a lock-
ing edge at least at the heel end. Auto bracing (3a):
For this type of crampon bracing the boots must
have a locking edge at the tip and the heel and a
non-twisting sole (suitable for crampons). In all
cases, ensure that the buckle is always on the out-
side of the shoe and the straps are long enough to
be wrapped around the shoe in the way defined. The
strap ends should be secured (by knots, pushing into
the shoe's edge or below the gaiter) to prevent step-
ping on them or stumbling over them. Shark Lite
(3d): We recommend using these exclusively for auto
bracing in connection with boots suitable for cram-
pons or with ski touring boots.
4 There are a right and left crampon
5a-f To ensure optimum seating of the shoe on the
crampon, the length of the crampon must be adjust-
ed to the shoe as shown in Fig. 5a - f. Attention: After
adjusting the length of the crampon, check that it is
firmly connected to the boot!
6a+b The edges of the shoe must be wide enough to
allow optimum support of the heel lever and the front
bracket in case of semi or auto bracing.
7 Length adjustment of the crampons. Criteria for
optimum length adjustment see (Fig. 5 + 6). When
adapting the crampon to very small boots, the
bridge will protrude beyond the edge of the heel
end.
8 Length adjustment of crampons for very small
shoe sizes
9a+b The bridge can be fixed in two positions to the
bridge seat on the crampon tip. The more rigid as-
sembly (9a) is recommended for boots suitable for
crampons. On soft shoes, where the soft bracing is
used, the natural rolling motion of the shoe can be
augmented by fastening the bridge to the tip part
correspondingly (9b).
10a-c Adjusting the heel bracket (auto) for use in
auto or semi bracing.

12a+b Changing the heel bracket
13 For soft bracing, the webbing sling must be fed
first through the eye in the tip brace, then through
the eye in the heel brace on the side opposite the
buckle. The webbing sling is then conducted back
across the instep to the buckle.

16 To ensure the crampon is firmly braced to the
boot, shove the front, rear, inner and outer point of
both boots on the floor for testing. The crampons
must not move on the boot.
17 The models "Beast / Beast Lite / Beast Alpine" can
be mounted in different setups. Loosen the fixing bolt,
plug the front point in the desired position and retight-
en the fixing bolt. To prevent loosening of the tips, we
recommend assembling the screws with medi-
um-strength securing (4 Nm). Before use, all screwed
joints must be checked for proper tightening. All ad-
justable parts need to be checked regularly during use.
18+19 Crampons may only be filed manually with a
hand file. Grinding with a machine may overheat and
soften the steel.
20 The following recommendations apply to all alu-
minium parts: Avoid direct contact of aluminium
