4.5 Teach-In 100 % Reference
4.5.1 Description
After connecting and aligning the sensor to the transmitter,
a teach-in to the transmitter must be performed. This
saves the currently applied light energy reception level as a
100 % reference and normalizes the measurement value to
100 %.
Teach-in of the 100 % reference must be performed again
after a realignment of the sensor to the transmitter in order
to always have a currently valid 100 % energy reference
signal, e.g. for the switching threshold presetting.
The maximum measured value of the sensor is 100 %.
The teach-in of the 100 % reference should be carried out
with the sensor in a clean state. If the teach-in of the
100 % reference is performed in a dirty state and the
sensor is subsequently cleaned, the measured value is
limited to 100 %.
Teach-in of the 100 % reference is only possible if the
sensor detects light reception.
If teach-in of the reference is not performed, the sensor
operates with the factory defined default value as a 100 %
reference. The functions of switching threshold presetting,
automatic switching threshold adaptation and soiling
detection are then not guaranteed to work.
The values for the switching thresholds SP1 and SP2
always refer to the light energy reception level of the 100 %
reference, which was defined with the last teach-in
performed on the transmitter.
During teach-in via the pin 2 digital input, the 100 %
reference is taught in. The switching threshold of SSC1 is
set to 50 % in the middle.
