c) Inserting/changing the batteries
Make sure you use the Mignon batteries (AA type, LR06) for the device. Always insert new full
batteries when turning on the device for the first time or when the battery level indicator only
shows one bar or no bars at all.
Proceed as follows to insert/replace the battery:
Disconnect the device from all measuring circuits. Remove all test leads from your device and
turn it off.
Loosen the two screws on the battery compartment cover at the rear and remove it from the
device.
Replace the used batteries with four new ones of the same type. Insert the batteries in the
battery compartment observing the correct polarity. Pay attention to the polarity markings in the
battery compartment.
Carefully replace the battery compartment cover.
Never use the device when it is open. !DANGER TO LIFE!
Do not leave empty batteries in the device. Even leakproof batteries may corrode and
destroy the device or release chemicals that are harmful to your health.
Do not leave batteries unattended. They may be swallowed by children or pets. Seek
immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed.
If you do not plan to use the meter for an extended period, remove the battery to
prevent it from leaking.
Leaking or damaged batteries may cause acid burns if they come into contact with
your skin. Always use protective gloves when handling leaking or damaged batteries.
Ensure that the batteries are not short-circuited. Do not throw batteries into fire!
Do not recharge or disassemble non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explo-
sion. Only use alkaline batteries, as alkaline batteries are more powerful and have a
longer lifespan.
