The meter with item no. 1763394 does not display any symbols, values or measuring
units for the conductivity, TDS (total dissolved solids) and salinity.

9. Setup

a) Inserting/changing the battery
The supplied battery must be inserted into the meter before first use. Proceed as follows:
• Fully unfold the meter.
• Open the battery compartment cover (10) on the right-hand side of the meter by turning the
lock with a coin or screwdriver. Then remove the battery cover. Do not remove the cover
with your fingers.
• Connect the 9 V block battery (included) to the battery connector with the correct polarity
(observe positive/+ and negative/- signs) and store it in the battery compartment.
• Replace the battery compartment cover and screw it in place. Ensure that the sealing ring in
the battery compartment cover is in the correct position.
