3. Intended Use

The clamp-on ground resistance tester (or simply tester) is intended for non-contact testing
of ground resistance in electrical systems. The tester features a self-luminous inverse LC dis-
play that shows resistance (0.010 - 1200 ohms) and alternating current (0.00 mA - 20.0 A) at
the same time, a measurement data memory, an adjustable alarm function for exceedance
of limit values, an automatic shut-off and a Data Hold function. This robust device has a wide
measurement range with high resolution, accurate, reliable and stable performance, and high
interference immunity.
The tester has a built-in microprocessor that enables accurate ground resistance measurement.
The integrated filter technology effectively minimises measurement noise.
The product design with double or reinforced insulation conforms to protection class 2. The
tester is only suitable for systems and measuring points that conform to the technical data. The
tester is powered by four commercially available Mignon batteries (AA/LR06 type). Recharge-
able batteries must not be used since they have lower cell voltage.
Do not use the device shortly before or after a thunderstorm (lightning! /high-power surges!).
Ensure that your hands, shoes, clothes, the floor, circuit and circuit components are dry.
Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields,
transmitter aerials or HF generators. These may distort the measurements.
Operation under adverse ambient conditions is not permitted. The device must not be exposed
to adverse environmental conditions such as extreme moisture or humidity, dust and flammable
gases, vapours or solvents, thunderstorms or similar conditions such as strong electrostatic
fields, etc.
Using this product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product and
result in a short circuit, fire or electric shock. The product must not be modified or reassembled!
