How to remember all
mounting data
Database incorporated
To store all mounting data for dif-
fer ent materials or resins, a da ta base
of parameters has been in cor po -
rat ed. ProntoPress-10 can save up
to 100 mounting meth ods, whereas
ProntoPress-20 can save up to 200
mounting meth ods, 100 per cylinder.
Struers meth ods, included in both
presses, con tain 10 Struers methods
with the default values for the resins
and rel e vant mounting conditions.
The press will au to mat i cal ly set the
cor rect pa ram e ters for the actual
cyl in der di am e ter.

For mounts where transparency is a must,
SpeciFast is used
The use of an electro-hydraulic pump guarantees
smooth movement of the ram. Even very thin
samples can be placed and will remain in
position when the ram is moved up or down.
New top closure
Also a new top closure has been
developed, combining the ad van -
tag es of both bayonet and thread ed
closure. Equipped with a triple ex-
ternal thread, the new clo sure will
always "catch" like a bay o net and
the threads will force the upper ram
down into the cyl in der, highly fa cil i -
tat ing the work for the operator. As
the threads are external, con tam i-
na tion with resin is not possible.
Elevator with steering arm and
built in safety switch
The top closure is positioned in an
elevator with steering arm. When a
mount ing proc ess is fi n ished, the top
clo sure is un screwed. The el e va tor
then rais es the top clo sure, al low ing
it to be swung to the side, ren der ing
the mounting cyl in der eas i ly ac ces -
si ble.
To mount the next sample, simply
turn the elevator back into the cor-
rect position and press the top
clo sure down into the cylinder. If
the elevator is not pressed down, a
safe ty switch will not allow the press
to start.
