Machine Problems
Machine has stopped cutting.
During cutting the cutting table
stops when reaching a specific
point.
The cut-off wheel rotates and
coolant runs, but cutting table does
not move.
The cut-off wheel does not rotate.
Cut-off wheel rotates, but no cooling
water.
Chamber light does not work.
Water leaking.
Workpieces or cutting chamber
rusty.

4. Trouble-Shooting

Explanation
The emergency stop has been
pressed.
The emergency stop has been
activated and you tried to press
another key.
Cutting motor overloaded due to
heavy use:
Material is too hard
Feed speed setting too high
Rotational speed setting too high
Cutting table is jammed
The AutoStop function is active.
The AutoStop function is active.
Cutting table is stationary because
AUTO mode has been de-selected.
The protection guard may be open.
The thermal overload protection of
the recirculation pump has been
activated.
Replace the lamp.
Leak in a Recirculation Cooling Unit
hose.
Water overflow in the cooling water
tank.
Insufficient additive in cooling fluid.
The protection guard is left closed
after use.
Action
Release the emergency stop to shut
o
off the STOP indicator.
Press any key to stop the indicators.
Solve the problem causing the
machine to stop, for example, by
reducing the feed speed, or using a
different cut-off wheel.
Switch unit off and on at Main
Switch to reset AutoStop.
Switch unit off and on at Main
Switch to reset AutoStop.
Cut manually by moving cutting
handle or press AUTO to select
automatic cutting.
Press the safety guard completely
down. If this does not help, call a
Struers service technician.
Press red reset button on back of
unit.
Remove plastic cap to gain access
to the fluorescent lamp. Pull out the
lamp and replace it.
Check the hose and tighten the
hose clamp.
Remove the excess water in the
tank.
Use Struers Additive for cooling
fluid in the cooling water, at the
correct concentration. Check with a
refractometer. Follow the
instructions in the 'Maintenance'
Section.
Leave the protection guard open to
let the cutting chamber dry.
