Display
In this menu the user can specify what information(Torque trend
measurement, pH value, Timer or Graph) will be displayed on the
main screen. A tick shows that the option is activated.
Graph
Axis Assignment
In this menu the user can select 2 options from the 4 options
(Temperature, Speed, Torque or pH) for axis assignment. A tick
shows that the option is activated.
Axis Scaling
For axis scaling, the user can choose either the automatic method
or the manual method.
Programs
Under menu "Programs", 5 user-defined speed (rpm)-time pro-
files can be created. In addition, the user could define the intermit-
tent mode is activated or not in the programs.
If the intermittent mode is activated, the run time/stop time value
from "Intermittent Mode" setting will be taken.
Note: If user need to activate the intermittent mode in one segment
of a program, he should set the "Run time/Stop time" in menu
option "Interval", meanwhile activate the "Run/Stop" function in
menu option "Intermittent Mode" (see section "Stirring").
Once a program has been selected, the following options are avail-
able:
Start: Start the selected program upon request.
When the selected program is started by pressing on menu option
"Start" with rotary/push knob, the screen allows the user to choose
"Infinite loop" or "Loop count". Press "OK" with rotary/push knob
to confirm "Infinite loop" and start the program control, or input
numbers and then press "OK" with rotary/push knob to confirm
"Loop count" and start the program control.
Edit: Edit the selected program parameters.
Start to edit the selected program parameters by pressing on menu
option "Edit" with rotary/push knob. The user can edit, delete, in-
sert or save one selected program segment in the program.
When user edits the program time for at least one segment, a tick
(
) for respective program will appear.
Delete: Delete the selected program.
If a selected program is deleted by pressing on menu option "Delete"
with rotary/push knob, all the program parameters will be emptied.
The tick (
) disappears.

Safety
Time out
The "Time out" function is used to define how long an interruption
in communications between the magnetic stirrer and the wireless
controller box can be before there is a reaction in the magnetic
stirrer.
If the set time limit is exceeded, the pre-selected temperature and
speed values become active.
Note: The initial setting for the time limit is 30 seconds. The user
can set a value of up to 60 minutes for this time limit.
In the "Speed" option, the user can specify a speed that is
appropriate and safe for the stirring task. The safe speed applies
if there is a communication failure between the stirrer and the
Wireless Controller or the communication range is exceeded.
Note: The initial setting of the safe speed is 50 rpm, and is
implemented after expiry of the time limit. The user can set a value
of up to 1700 rpm for this speed limit.
If the intermittent mode is activated, the device immediately
switches to run at the set safe speed, or the set speed if that is less
than the safe speed.
In the "Temperature" option, the user can specify a temperature
that is appropriate and safe for the heating task. The safe tem-
perature applies if there is a communication failure between the
stirrer and the Wireless Controller or the communication range is
exceeded.
Note: The setting range for the safe temperature is 0 - 340 °C.
Password
In the "Password" menu, the user can protect the Wireless Controller
settings using a password (factory setting: 000).
Safe temp confirmation
This option requires the user to accept the hot plate safe temperature
value during the start-up.
Er5
The time is taken to recognise that the sensor has not been placed
in the medium when the heating is switched on.
Note: The user can set a value from 1 to 30 min for this time limit
depending on the application.
If time limit is set to 0 min, the Error 5 detection is disabled.
CAUTION
This function will only be active if:
- Sensor temperature is < 50 °C
- Difference target temperature / sensor temperature > 5 K
Settings
Languages:
The "Languages" option allows the user to select the desired lan-
guage by turning and pressing the rotary/push knob (D). A tick
indicates the language that is set for the system.
Units:
The "Units" option allows the user to select the desired unit for
displaying the temperature. The choice is between "°C" or "°F"
and is made by turning and pressing the rotary/push knob (D). A
tick indicates the unit that is set for the system.
Display:
The "Display" option allows the user to change the background
color between "Black" and "White", and display "Firmware Update

Connections and interfaces

Bluetooth
Micro-USB
The device allows the user to establish a connection to a wireless
controller box.
The device can then be operated via a wireless controller box
within a range of 10 m (without obstructions).
Please refer to the separate instruction manual for the wireless
controller box for more details.
Eurostar control
The new safety feature of the RET monitors the behavior of a
connected Eurostar and stops the heating process when the
Eurostar stirring speed falls below a specific minimum speed. The
RET also stops the heating process whenever the Eurostar is in
an error state or the cable connection between the RET and the
Eurostar gets lost.
The Eurostar can be connected with the RET control either via RS
232 or USB. The used interface has to be selected in the menu.
Main Menu  Settings  Communication  Eurostar control
Important information when the USB interface is used for the
communication between the RET and the Eurostar:
The USB cable has always be connected with the RET first and then
with the Eurostar.
For the stirrer speed of the Eurostar has to be a minimum speed
set. When the actual value of the stirrer speed falls below the
minimum limit the heating function of the RET will be stopped and
the RET will be set in an error state.
The new menus are only in English.
Information:
The "Information" option offers the user an overview of the most
important system settings of the stirrer RET control-visc.
