Tips for washing and drying

Remove tissues and foreign objects such as
needles, nails, coins, matches, paper clips,
clips or similar from your pockets. Turn the
pockets inside out if necessary and brush
them out.

Sorting through laundry

The washing instructions of the textile manu-
facturer/the international care signals on the
labels contain precise information about how
to handle each piece of laundry.
We recommend sorting through the laundry
according to the following criteria:
– Type of fabric
– Hot wash/coloured wash (cotton)
– Easy-care synthetics
– Delicates, wool and hand wash
– Colour
– Wash white laundry separately, other-
wise it will turn grey.
– Wash new dark pieces separately at
first, as they lose their colour a lot the
first few times they are washed.
– Level of dirtiness
– If possible, remove stains when still
fresh, otherwise they will become par-
ticularly stubborn.
– It is best to pre-treat stains with water
and ox-gall soap.
As fabrics need different lengths of time to dry
and react to heat in different ways, additional
criteria applies for drying in the appliance:
Before drying, sort the laundry to remove
items that are unsuitable for drying:
– Wool textiles, silk, nylon tights, laundry
with (foam-) rubber or metal parts, wa-
terproof textiles, reinforced clothing or
similar.
– laundry that has been previously treated
with chemical detergents.
– laundry that has been treated with chem-
icals, solvents, oil, grease and wax or
has been soiled with these substances
prior to this wash cycle.
Tips for washing and drying
Sort by fabric type:
– cottons and linen textiles suitable for dry-
ers
– delicate laundry that is suitable for dry-
ers such as easy-care synthetics, syn-
thetic-mix fabrics, cotton or similar.
Sort the laundry according to the
instructions on the respective textile
labels. Only clothing with the appropriate
care label may be dried in the dryer:
Suitable for the dryer
Dry at normal temperature
Dry at lower temperature
Do not dry using the dryer
Special materials
– Small and delicate pieces, such as baby
socks, stockings and underwire bras are
best washed in a small pillowcase or small
washbag.
– Curtains need to be handled especially
carefully, as their threads can pull quickly.
Only spin curtains if the textile label indi-
cates that they are suitable for this.
– Before washing curtains, you will need to
remove the plastic and metal hooks.
– Dry delicate laundry in a washing bag or
net so that they are not damaged by but-
tons etc.
– Do not "over-dry" easy-care synthetics and
synthetic-mix fabrics. Remove this laundry
from the drum when slightly damp and then
let it dry.
