Caution: Always block an unused neurostimulator socket with the Model
B31060 Connector Plug. Do not use the incompatible plug from the Model
37086 Extension Kit. An open socket may cause pocket stimulation and allow
tissue ingress. A socket with ingressed tissue may be unsuitable for future use.
8. Tighten the setscrew for the connector plug. Insert the white torque wrench fully into
the self-sealing grommet, and rotate it clockwise, until it clicks at least once
(Figure 3).

Implanting the neurostimulator

Warning: Do not bend or coil the excess extension in front of the
neurostimulator. Coil the excess extension behind the neurostimulator to
minimize potential damage during neurostimulator replacement surgery, help
minimize potential kinking of the extension, and minimize interference with
telemetry. Damage to the extension may cause a loss of stimulation or require
surgical revision or replacement.
1. For optimal telemetry, coil the excess extension behind the neurostimulator, with no
more than 2 loose loops.
2. Place the neurostimulator into the pocket.

Checking system integrity

For complete information, refer to the appropriate clinician application programming guide.
1. To ensure that each extension is connected properly to the neurostimulator, use the
clinician programmer to check the system integrity:
Program the basic stimulation parameters.
Check the battery status.
Measure and interpret impedances to rule out a short or open circuit.
2. If the system integrity test results are not acceptable, refer to "Connecting the
extension to the neurostimulator" on page 11.

Completing the implant procedure

Warning: Use the suture holes in the connector block to secure the
neurostimulator to the muscle fascia with nonabsorbable sutures. Device
inversion may damage the extension, which may cause inadequate stimulation
and require a surgical revision or replacement.
1. Secure the neurostimulator to the muscle fascia with nonabsorbable suture, using the
2 suture holes in the connector block.
2. Close all incisions.
