• Apart from occasional cleaning and battery and fuse replacements, the device does not require any maintenance.
• Information on changing the battery and fuse appears below.
Regularly check the device and test leads for signs of damage.

b) Cleaning

• Always observe the following safety information before cleaning the device:
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or parts are removed, unless this can be
done by hand.
Before cleaning or repairing, the leads must be disconnected from the device and all test objects.
Switch the power off.
• Do not use abrasive detergents, petrol, alcohol or other similar chemicals to clean the device. These may corrode
the surface of the device. In addition, the vapours emitted by these substances are explosive and harmful to your
health. Do not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes to clean the device.
• Use a clean, damp, lint-free and antistatic cloth to clean the device, display and test leads. Allow the device to dry
completely before using it again.

c) Inserting and replacing the batteries and fuses

• To operate the device, six 1.5 Volt AA or LR6 batteries and a lithium button battery of type CR2032 are required.
You must to insert six new, fully charged batteries prior to initial operation or when the battery change symbol
"
" appears on the display.
• The lithium button battery must be changed when the date and time settings are no longer retained. The service
life of the button battery is approx. 2 years.
• If device tests can no longer be carried out, the device fuses in the GT-6000 may be defective. These can be
