c) Phase Test
The voltage tester enables the determination of the outer conductor "L1". This can be useful,
for example, for tests on sockets. Here, the live outer conductor can be determined with both
speed and ease.
Hold the voltage tester by the handles (1) and (10) provided. Never touch the device beyond
the handle ends.
To perform the phase test, ensure that the installation is correctly connected.
If necessary, check the function of the outer conductor (L1) and neutral conductor
(N) as described in "Two-pole voltage testing" and the function of the protective
earth (PE) as described in the "RCD test" section.
Contact test probe L2 (4) with the protective earth (PE) and test probe L1 (6) with the outer
conductor.
If the voltage indicator lights up, you have made contact the outer conductor.
If there is no indicator, leave test probe L2 (4) on the protective earth and insert test probe L1
(6) into the second live contact of the socket.
There should now be a voltage indication.
If there is no voltage indication, the installation must be checked to ensure its correct functioning.
Cleaning and maintenance
The voltage tester is maintenance-free, apart from occasional cleaning.
T he voltage tester must be disconnected from all devices under test before cleaning.
After cleaning, allow the product to dry completely before using it again.
Never try to open the casing.
Check the technical safety of the voltage tester regularly. It can be assumed that correct
operation is no longer possible if the device or connecting cable is visibly damaged, if it
was stored long-term in unfavourable conditions, or if it was exposed to heavy loads during
transport.
The outside of the device should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth or brush only. Do not use
abrasive or chemical cleaning agents which could damage the housing or impair operation.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in household
waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with appli-
cable regulatory guidelines.
