In case of a timely recovery without complica-
tions (...) you may gradually increase the level
of your everyday activities.
When sleeping you may return to the often
more comfortable lateral position beginning
in the 5th postoperative week; however
when lying on the non-operated leg you
should still use the abduction pillow tem-
porarily.
Lying on the operated side is usually possib-
le beginning in the 7th postoperative week
without any restrictions.
As soon as you are able to flex your hip
90°, you are allowed to sit in a normal chair
(starting around the 7th week). However,
particularly low or unsupportive upholste-
red furniture should not yet be used.
Getting up from a low sitting position
should always be done with the non-opera-
ted leg.
You may now also begin to put on shoes
and socks yourself. Helpful items for this
purpose are long shoehorns, elastic
shoelaces and dressing aids for putting
on socks.
