removed by accident.
8. Connect the tubing to a filled reservoir. Fill the
infusion set. Ensure that there are no air bubbles
in the tubing. Consult the pump manufacturer's
instructions for use.
Caution: When filling the infusion set, hold the
infusion set with the needle pointing down to
ensure that medication does not come in contact
with the adhesive backing paper.
9. Pull up gently to remove the backing paper.
10. To prepare the serter: Place fingers on lined
indentations. Pull up the spring until you hear a
"click".
11. Carefully remove the needle guard by gently
twisting and then pulling it off. Make sure that
the soft cannula does not exceed the introducer
needle.
Caution: Before positioning the infusion set over
an insertion site, place the tubing in the slot on
the side of the serter to ensure that the tubing
is not caught underneath the infusion set during
insertion.
12. To insert the infusion set: Position the infusion
set over the insertion site. Simultaneously press
the round indentations on both sides of the
insertion device to insert the infusion set.
13. Push gently on the spring to secure the adhesive
onto the skin.
14. Remove the serter and introducer needle by
grasping the center of the serter and pulling it
gently back. Gently massage the adhesive tape
onto the skin. Fill the empty space in the cannula
with the following amount of U-100 insulin:
U-100 insulin:
6 mm: 0.3 units (0.003 ml)
9 mm: 0.5 units (0.005 ml)
15. Push the lid back in place until you hear a "click."
To disconnect the infusion set
The infusion set allows you to temporarily disconnect
from your pump without having to change the infusion
set.
A. Hold the adhesive tape in place by placing a finger
just in front of the cannula housing, and gently
squeeze the sides of the site connector. Pull
the site connector straight out from the cannula
housing.
B. Insert the disconnect cover into the cannula
housing until you hear a "click".
To reconnect the infusion set
C. If necessary, fill the infusion set until medication
dispenses from the needle.
Caution: When filling the infusion set, hold the
needle pointing down.
D. Remove the disconnect cover from the cannula
housing by pressing the grips. Place a finger
on the adhesive tape just in front of the cannula
housing.
E. Push the connector needle straight in until you
hear a "click"
