The operating software on Sartocheck

may be updated with an SD card. Since the configuration data are localized in
a battery-backed RAM, they remain unchanged during any software update.
Every unit bears its own unique serial number. The serial number may not be changed
during a software update.

The serial number is entered for the first time during production of the unit.
If the PCB has to be replaced during repairs that may arise later,
the unit must be assigned the exact same serial number that is imprinted
on the manufacturer's label.
