If the components are touched by persons or objects, This may lead to spark formation.
Ground the complete system to prevent electrostatic discharge.
Join together conductive metal components to equalize electrical potentials and ground
the housing and cylinder piston rod as well as the valve according to applicable
regulations.

2. Attach the pneumatic connections of the cylinder to output
connections 2 and 4 of your valve.
You can find the pneumatic connection technology for cylinder
tubing in the online catalog.
1. Remove the blanking plugs at the pneumatic connections of
the valve.
2. Attach the pneumatic connections (tubing) to the CD12 series
valve as follows (see "5.4 Product overview" on page 56):
– 1 pressure connection (P)
– 3 exhaust (S) (preassembled silencer, check-choke valve, or
restricted exhaust)
– 5 exhaust (R) (preassembled silencer, check-choke valve, or
restricted exhaust)

7.4.4 Connecting individual electrical devices

Lay the connection cables and leads so that there are no sharp
bends at any point.
This prevents short circuits and interruptions to the electrical
supply.
Depending on the configuration, connect the coils for
electrically controlling the valve and connect the sensors.
You can find additional information on connecting these
individual devices in the respective operating instructions (see
Table 1 on page 46).
