Type Explanation
The start button  was
MESSAGE
(#28) pressed and cutting did
not start. The most likely
cause is that the cutting
chamber hood has not
been properly closed (D-
65 only).
ERROR During power up, a motor
(#29) control function was not
activated.
(D-65 only).
The start button  was
ERROR
(#30) pushed, but the K1 motor
contact was not activated
(similar messages can be
displayed showing
contacts K2, K3, K4 and
K5).
(D-60 only).
The start button  was
ERROR
(#31) pushed, but the K1 motor
contact was not
deactivated (similar
messages can be
displayed showing
contacts K2, K3, K4 and

MESSAGE

MESSAGE Cutting stopped because

beneath the Auto stop
value.
ERROR At the start of a cutting
(#34) operation, the motor
current is less than 1.0

Action
Check that the hood is closed properly.
If the error message is still displayed,
Switch off the Discotom at the Main Switch
and call a Struers service technician.
The Discotom can be used, but the Auto
stop function will not work.
Call a Struers service technician.
Switch off and on at Main Switch.
If the error message is still displayed,
contact a Struers service technician.
Switch off and on at Main Switch.
If the error message is still displayed,
contact a Struers service technician.
Pull the button out to re-set the Emergency
stop and allow Discotom to be re-started.
If the sample has not been cut through, this
could be because cutting the sample has
not required much motor power.
This can be the case with thin walled tube
samples. Change the stop position to
Relative or Absolute instead of Auto.
Check that the Discotom is correctly
connected to the mains power supply and
that all 3 phases are functional.
Switch off and on at Main Switch.
If the error message is still displayed,
contact a Struers service technician.
