RS-232 computer interface cable to the RS-232 port on the back of the generator
(illustrated in Figure 5-2C) and connect the female end to the designated serial port on
the computer. For instructions on loading the software and its operation sequence,
please review the software's specific Instructions For Use.
7.7.

SELECT POWER LEVEL

Set the desired RF power level (in Watts), as recommended by the Catheter
Instructions for Use, by using the POWER ▲/▼ Buttons (Fig. 5-1B/5-1C), as
described in section 5.3.
7.8.

SET TIME DURATION

Set the desired or catheter Instructions For Use specified duration of the RF
Power application (in seconds) by using the TIME ▲/▼ Buttons (Fig. 5-1D/5-
1F). The TIME Display (Fig. 5-1E) will show the set duration. The duration of
RF Power application can only be changed during the READY mode by using the
TIME ▲/▼ Buttons, as described in section 5.4
Note: The TIME ▲/▼ Buttons are inoperative during RF power delivery.
7.9.

CONFIRM GENERATOR AND ACCESSORY SETTINGS AND STATE

Prior to delivering RF power to the Catheter, first check that all the connections
have been made properly and that the Power and Time settings are correct.
Confirm that all of the requirements specified in the individual accessories'
Instructions for Use have been met. Only once all the above conditions are met
should one proceed to deliver RF power.

7.10. RF POWER DELIVERY

RF power is delivered when the RF ON/OFF Button (Fig. 5-1G) is pressed once.
Pressing the RF ON/OFF Button again before the timer elapses will prematurely
terminate RF power delivery. When RF power is delivered to the Catheter, the
"POWER", "IMPEDANCE", AND "TIME" displays function as described in
SECTION 5: and the RF ON/OFF BUTTON/LIGHT is illuminated green. It
remains lit until the RF power delivery is discontinued by any of these
occurrences:
1) Reaching the end of the set TIME duration.
2) Pressing the RF ON/OFF Button again.
3) When an error is detected.
If an excessively high impedance value is detected during delivery of RF power, a
build-up of coagulum on the Catheter tip may be the cause and RF power output
should be discontinued.
