SECTION 7: DIRECTIONS FOR USE

7.1.

READ INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Do not operate the generator or accessories before thoroughly reading their
respective Instructions For Use. It is vital that the Instructions For Use for the
equipment is read, understood, and followed properly.
7.2.

VERIFY VOLTAGE SELECTOR SETTING

Verify that the voltage selector setting and fuse draw orientation match the supply
voltage.
7.3.

CONNECT GENERATOR POWER CORD

Connect the Generator Power Cord plug into a properly grounded AC electrical
outlet. To ensure proper grounding, the Power Cord plug must be installed in an
AC electrical wall outlet designated "Hospital Grade" or "Hospital Only". Never
use an outlet without a grounding connection. Position the generator for easy
viewing of its front panel displays.
7.4.

CONNECT BMC RFP CONNECTOR CABLE

Install the BMC RFP Connector Cable into the "CATHETER" socket located
within the "ISOLATED PATIENT CONNECTIONS" area on the Generator front
panel. Gently line up the connector pins with the socket and push in until the
connector fits firmly into the socket. Secure the connector in place by rotating the
locking ring in a clockwise direction.
To disconnect the BMC RFP Connector Cable from the Generator, rotate the
locking ring counter clockwise to unlock, then grasp the connector and gently pull
it straight out of the socket.
Never disconnect the BMC RFP Connector Cable by pulling on the cable cord.
Do not twist the BMC RFP Connector Cable while inserting or removing it from
the Generator socket, or else the pin connections may be damaged.
To connect the Catheter to the BMC RFP Connector Cable, please refer to the
individual Instructions For Use of each device.
Note: Position the Generator near the table where the procedure is to be
performed. The generator may only be connected to recording systems providing
patient electrical isolation in accordance with EN-60601.
