Central ventilation units AIR1 RH
m
Risk of personal injury and material damage!
The disassembly and re-assembly of the unit are not part of routine maintenance.
– The disassembly and re-assembly of the unit may only be carried out by qualified specialist personnel.
Risk of material damage when installing heating and cooling registers!
The following must be taken into account when installing heating and cooling registers:
– Close all hydraulic stop valves.
– Isolate all connections and ensure that the unit is leak-free with regard to oil and refrigerants.
– Since the diameter of the heating and cooling pipes is small, water may remain in the register after emptying. For
safety reasons, compressed air should be blown through the system to remove the remaining water.
m
Personal injury and/or material damage due to unit tipping over!
Due to the high centre of gravity, the unit can tip over and cause personal injury and material damage.
- When transporting the unit, carefully observe its behaviour and stay clear of any possible hazardous areas.

2 .0 .6 Disposal

m
Danger to life due to electric shock!
An electric shock can result in death or serious injury.
– Ensure that the unit is voltage-free and isolated from the mains power supply. Ground and short circuit the unit, shield
neighbouring live components.
Dispose of all components and filters and disused operating materials (e.g. oil, refrigerants) in an environmentally-friend-
ly manner in accordance with the local codes, practices and environmental regulations.
An authorised specialist waste processing company must dispose of the unit or the individual components. The appoin-
ted contractor must ensure that:
– the components are separated according to material types.
– the used operating materials are sorted and separated according to their respective properties.
The controller of this product contains batteries. According to the battery law (BattG) we are obliged to inform you
about the following:
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used
batteries and accumulators. You can return batteries and accumulators free of charge to retailers or municipal collection points.
Batteries or rechargeable batteries that contain harmful substances are marked with a crossed-out dustbin symbol.
Under the garbage can symbol is the chemical designation of the pollutant.
Cd for cadmium / Pb for lead / Hg for mercury
Think of our environment, with the return you make a substantial contribution to environmental protection!

Mechanical assembly

m
Danger to life due to electric shock
The installation and connection of the unit may only be carried out by qualified specialist personnel. The electrical
connections must be carried out by a person who has proper professional training and experience in the relevant acci-
dent prevention regulations, as well as other generally recognised safety and occupational health codes, with authori-
sation to perform work on the unit.

2 .1 .1 General assembly

The central ventilation unit AIR1 RH must be installed in the upright position. Due to noise levels, which change depen-
ding on system pressure, it is recommended that the compact ventilation unit is installed in utility room or storage room.
The assembly should take place in such a way to enable the shortest possible ventilation ducts and trouble-free
connection to the unit. Tight bends result in increased pressure losses and flow noises.
The unit can be turned 180° for optimal installation, so that the inlets and outlets for the outside air/exhaust air and
extract air/supply air can be on the left or right side of the unit. With regard to these properties, bends and long pipe
sections are not required. In addition, the heat loss is reduced and the system efficiency is increased.
Important information:
– The ventilation ducts must not become kinked.
– The connections to the connectors must be firm and tight.
– The flange connections must be leakproof and firm.
– If necessary, anti-vibration mounts can be used on site between the base of the unit and the floor.
m
Risk of injury due to moving parts!
If there is no duct connection, the exhaust air discharge hood (accessories) must be mounted on the exhaust air side
to prevent contact with moving parts.
Ensure that the unit is positioned on a flat surface before the start of installation work.
Assembly area
The following criteria must be observed when installing the unit to ensure easy accessibility for maintenance and main-
tenance work (Fig. 4).
A: Minimum distance servicing the terminal box
B: Width of unit
C: Minimum distance for opening the service door
D: Height of unit (incl. terminal box)
