II. Patient Set Suction Tube Set-up.
Red clamp

This tube allows suction from the joint, either from a cannula (Y) or through a shaver (Z).
Do not close the red clamp. The red clamp should only be used to reduce or stop flow during surgery.
The scrub nurse passes the
waste extremity of the suction
tube to the non-sterile person
(circulating nurse).
Place and center the tube
around the roller pump.

Auto-locking device
The circulating nurse inserts
the waste end in a waste
collection bag (Ref. 281380).
