Notice!
To use the automatic gun again
without material circulation, screw
the dummy plug in as far as it will
go. Secure with Loctite 242.
Check for any damage and soil-
ing and replace corresponding
components as required.
9. Operation
Attention!
Loose screws can cause damage
to parts or result in malfunctions.
→ Tighten all screws by hand and
check that they are screwed tight.

9.1. First use

The automatic gun is supplied fully
assembled and ready for operation.
After unpacking, check:
■ Automatic gun damaged.
■ Scope of supply complete (see
chapter 5).
Attention!
Using soiled compressed air can
cause malfunctions.
→ Use clean compressed air. For
example with SATA filter 444
(Art. No. 92296).
■ Check that all screws are screwed
tight.
■ Screw the fluid tip tight.
■ Rinse material passages with a suita-
ble cleaning solution (see chapter 11).

■ Align the air cap.
■ Connect the control air (min. 3 bar).
■ Connect flat and round fan air.
■ Connect the material supply.
Notice!
Test air caps are available from
SATA to help adjust the spraying
parameters (see chapter 13).

9.2. Normal operation

The automatic gun does not have
an internal control. To start the
spraying process the flat and round
fan air must be connected first and
then the material supply must be
opened. The paint needle is then
opened via the control pulse and
the spraying process is started.
The end of the control pulse closes
the paint needle again and stops
the spraying process. Material no
longer flows. The flat and round fan
air must then be connected.
Before using the automatic gun,
heed/check the following points to
warrant safe working with the gun:
■ Automatic gun is safely fitted.
■ Compressed air flow rate and pres-
sure is ensured.
■ Clean compressed air is being used.
Adjust spray gun inlet pressure
Notice!
If the gun input pressure does
not reach the necessary level,
increase the pressure in the com-
pressed air circuit.
