5. Operation
The following description relates primarily to usage of the FSA 050 as a stand-alone unit. Bluetooth operation
of the FSA 050 is described in the Online Help of the CompacSoft[plus] software. Installation of the
CompacSoft[plus] software on a computer is described in sec. 5.13.

If the FSA status is set in the SETUP menu, FSA 050 blocks the insulation test and the display/deletion of the
stored results in Stand-alone mode.
5.1 SETUP menu
The SETUP menu enables users to set values for use
with the various FSA 050 functions. In the following
table, the symbols and their significance are described
in the order in which they are displayed.
Symbol Meaning
Status set:

FSA – FSA 050 communication via Bluetooth with FSA 500/7xx.
STA – FSA 050 operation in stand-alone mode.
Sets the buzzer threshold for continuity

measurements. The buzzer sounds if the
measurement result is below the set value.
Lock button ON/OFF

Sets the maximum current level for short
l5C
circuits with continuity measurements.
Sets the lower threshold in ohms for the
ln5
buzzer for insulation analysis. The buzzer sounds if the result is above the
set value.
Timer for insulation analysis mode t. Insulation analysis is terminated once

the time has run down to 0 seconds. Insulation analysis is
active during the countdown.
Limit value for interference voltage detection during insulation analysis.

Turning the rotary switch to a different position
always terminates the SETUP menu.
SETUP – Setting status
1. Set the rotary switch to <SETUP> (fig. 2, pos. 6).
 The firmware version of the FSA 050 is displayed
for four seconds and then
 The status of the FSA 050 (FSA or STA).
2. Press <TEST> (fig. 2, pos. 1) for approx.
two seconds.
 The status of the FSA 050 changes.
 The buzzer sounds briefly.
 The lock symbol on the LCD flashes.

3. Briefly pressing <TEST> changes the status (FSA/
STA) of the FSA 050.
4. Press < /OK> to store the desired value

(fig. 2, pos. 2).

The desired value has been stored when the lock
symbol disappears from the LCD.


6. Keep briefly pressing <TEST> until the desired value
is displayed.
