Power consumption
The total power consumption of this device is up to 1800 W. For this load we recommend a separate power
supply protected by a 16 A home circuit breaker.
ATTENTION: Overload!
If you are using an extension cord, it should have cross section of the conductor at least 1,5 mm
Do not use any splitters as they do not have enough power for this device.
Preserving tips
The cleanliness of containers and food during preparation has a major impact on durability.
The preserving jars and their closures must always be undamaged and sterile.
Fruits and vegetables must be of high quality, fresh and fully ripe.
Viscous liquids (such as soups or sweet hot drinks) tend to burn. Heat them slowly and stir continuously.
Preparing food for preserving
Wash the raw foods thoroughly with lukewarm water and allow them to dry before cooking.
Soak the green beans and peas before preserving and let them swell.
GB
Find the information about fruits and vegetables that you can preserve in the cookbooks.
Preparation of jars and lids
Check that the jars do not contain any residues or are damaged.
Sterilize the preserve containers and their closures before filling and allow them to dry on a clean cloth.
Do not touch the sterile containers or their closures from the inside.
Leave the rubber sealing bands in clean water until you use them. Do not use porous, damaged or
overstretched rubber bands.
Fill the containers up to 2 cm below the rim. Fill the pasty contents (such as marmalades) up to 3–4 cm
below the rim. In case of meat preservation, fill the container only up to ¾.
Seal the containers tightly with preserving caps.
Preserving
Make sure that the temperature of the jars is about the same as the water temperature when they are
placed in the preserving pot
The electric preserving pot can accommodate 14 original rounded glass jars with rounded-off "Weck
round rim glasses 100" with matching preserving lids.
The tallest jar must be submerged by about ¾ in the water.
When preserving glasses in two layers, the lower glasses are completely submerged.
Use the appliance only when the lid is closed.
Do not shorten the preserving time. If you are in doubt, cook longer.
After preserving
You can use the used water for several subsequent preserves preparations.
Warning:
Never place preserving jars directly on the bottom of the pot. Place
them on the preserving grid.
Do not overfill the pot. The maximum water level must not exceed the
max. mark.
ATTENTION: Broken jar!
Do not place cold jars in hot water; warm them.
After preserving, carefully remove the jars, place them on the tea
towel and cover them with the second cloth.
