Contact Bridge for Valves and Sensors

4.1 Valves Addressing

Electrical connection of the valves to the Bus electronics is made by
means of intelligent contact bridges (.torque for the bridges at the
valve 0,25Nm + 0,05Nm ). These bridges are connected to one an-
other by a cable and they contain the driver for the valves and the
filtering for the sensors. Up to 16 bridges of 4 possible valve units
(branches), which are each connected by means of a cable to the
Bus electronics. The addresses of the contact bridges and thus the
valves are determined by their position on the valve unit. The first
contact bridge behind the Bus module branch 1 has the bit addresses
0 and 1, the second has the bit addresses 2 and 3, ... etc. The valve
solenoid which is situated on top at the cable input has the lower val-
ue even bit address of (0,2,4,...), the lower valve coil having the high-
er value odd bit address of (1,3,5,...). Overall each valve unit occu-
pies 2 words (32 Bit) per branch. Contact bridges for solenoid / spring
operated valves occupy 2 Bit addresses.
