Data assignment

The data assignment for the master system is completed using the Profibus DP connector
plug (546 046 360 2). The plug description must be noted. The connector complies with
Siemens recommendations for 9 pin Sub-D plug connectors. Any other Siemens plug con-
nectors may be used. Meaning of the 9 pin Sub-D connector :
Pin 1 -> not used
Pin 2 -> not used
Pin 3 -> B-Data Line
Pin 4 -> RTS
Pin 5 -> 0V (Supply Voltage 5V)
Pin 6 -> 5V (Supply Voltage 5V , isolation voltage 500 V, max. 100mA)
Pin 7 -> not used
Pin 8 -> A-Data Line
Pin 9 -> not used
Inside the plug the first and the last party of the Profibus DP line have to have the final re-
sistors.

The A-line is connected to terminal 1 and 3. The
B-line is connected to terminal 2 and 4. The
shield must be connected by means of the clamp
(Y). the connections 1,2 and 3,4 for A and B are
equal, i.e. both can be used as arriving or leaving
bus.
The terminating resistor of the bus can be turned
on or off by means of the switch. This is neces-
sary for the first and last participant. The moving
load is designed for line type A Profibus DP
(wave drag 135 Ω - 165 Ω).
Switch position 1: Resistor not connected
Switch position 2: Resistor connected
