1. Setting up the
measurement bay
1.1 Important notes on the
measurement bay
Given a flat measurement bay, the FWA 46xx+ is ideal for
use both over inspection pits and together with lifting
platforms.
The space required to the left and right of the
measurement bay is approx. 700 mm measured from
the outer edges

of the runways with the lifting platform version.

of the sliding bases with the pit version.
It is important for the wheel support points (turntables,
sliding bases) to be on the same level. Use is made of
a testing device to check the level of the wheel support
points.

The ± 250 mm area measured from the center of the
turntable in axial direction to the front and rear must
be flat on both sides over the rolling distance.

Level checking is performed by the service department
using the levelling device.
Permissible height difference
between left and right
between front and rear
Diagonally from front left to rear right
Diagonally from front right to rear left

Measurement bay/pit:

Correct unevenness and differences in the height
of the turntables and sliding bases by fitting iron
or sheet metal plates underneath (plates not
included in scope of delivery).

Use set screws to attach the turntables and sli-
ding bases to the floor of the measurement bay.

Measurement bay/lifting platform:
$
Attach the turntables and sliding bases to the
floor of the measurement bay.
$
Make sure the measurement and working heights
coincide.

Protect the turntables against contamination.
