Monitor Output
Use this mono output to connect the Profiler to a stage monitor with its own level controls. This output also has
its own GROUND LIFT. You can also connect this output to a power amp and a regular guitar cabinet. In this
case, you need to switch the cabinet simulation off, using the soft button "Monitor Cab Off" in the Output Menu,
to prevent unwanted coloration created by running a speaker-emulated signal through a guitar cabinet.
Bypassing the Cabinet Module can also be done by simply pressing the CABINET button. However, there are two
differences compared to enabling "Monitor Cab Off": 1) Bypassing the Cabinet Module in the Stack Section is not
a global setting, but is individual per Rig, as long as you don't lock the Cabinet Module in its "off" state. 2) It will
bypass the Cabinet Module for all outputs, while "Monitor Cab Off" will affect the MONITOR OUTPUT exclusively.
Direct Output/Send
This carries the direct output signal in glorious mono. The main purpose for this output is to feed signals into the
reference amp during Profiling. But it can do more than just that: you can also use the DIRECT OUTPUT/SEND in
combination with the RETURN INPUT to create an effects loop. In this case, the DIRECT OUTPUT/SEND becomes
a mono send. If you're not using this output as part of an effects loop, it will normally carry the original guitar
signal. So, if you want to record your guitar dry, connect the DIRECT OUTPUT to the recording device or audio
interface input.

Note: The functions described in the above paragraph are only the standard output settings. You can change the
signal sources individually for each output in the Output menu; e.g. you can set the Main Output to only deliver
the wet Delay and Reverb signal, while the Direct Output carries the pure amp sound without effects.
Return and Alternative Input
The ALTERNATIVE INPUT can be used as a rear-side guitar input, which is convenient for the Rack, and Power-
Rack, in particular. The parameter "Input Source" needs to be set accordingly in the Input Section.
The RETURN input is available as balanced TRS or XLR input. While it plays a key role during Profiling, as ex-
plained in our Profiling Guide, it can also be used in combination with the DIRECT OUT/SEND to loop in external
equipment. In combination, RETURN and ALTERNATIVE IN can function as a pair of stereo returns. Details can be
found in the "Effect Loops" chapter of the Reference Manual.
