When leaving the boat for an extended period, switch off the current using the
main switch. Also switch off the current using the main switch when performing
electrical installation work. The automatic bilge pump, the radio and the optional
heater remain operational and can be deactivated only by disconnecting the battery
terminals.
When connecting or disconnecting batteries make sure no metal tools make contact
with the aluminium parts of the boat or both terminals of the battery simultaneously.
Recharge the batteries only using the boat's engine or a battery charger appropriate
for the battery type. Recharging the battery with excessive current may cause the
danger of the battery exploding. Make sure the battery does not boil over when
recharging and spill battery acid into the boat.
NB
NB
Never switch off the current using the main switch when the
engine is running.
Do not alter the boat's electrical system or wiring diagrams.
Only a skilled boat electrician is allowed to modify and service
the system.
