Procedure
1. Connect the red measuring probe to the 10 A input (5) or the µA;
mA; µF input (6) and connect the black probe to the COM input
(12).
2. Set the rotary function switch (10) to "40 µA", "µA", "mA" or "10 A".
In the position "µA" currents of up to 4000 µA can be measured and
in the position "mA" currents of up to 400 mA can be measured.
3. After turning on, the unit is set to the DC current measuring and
automatic mode. Therefore, before taking AC measures press
"Mode" to enter the AC mode. To the left of the display (1) "AC" or
"DC" is displayed. To return to the DC mode, press "Mode" (4)
again.
4. Break the circuit after the circuitry or component has been
disconnected from all power sources. Place the probes in series to
the consumer or the circuitry you intend to measure. When measur-
ing DC current, observe correct polarity if possible (red to plus and
black to minus).
5. Now reconnect the circuitry to the power source.
6. Now the result can be read from the LC display (1). If a negative
current is measured, a minus symbol is displayed to the left of the
result. If necessary, correct the polarity by switching the probes.
Hints
If you cannot estimate the current to be expected, always start
measuring in the 10 A range.
In the automatic mode, only the number of digits changes. To have
the result displayed in µA, mA or A, change the measuring range
(and replug the probes to the according sockets).

Please notice!
Do not perform resistance measurements on voltage-carrying
components or circuits.
