Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunc-
tions, damage or physical injury:
Please read this manual carefully and use the unit only according to
this manual.
Before every use, inspect the unit, the probes, and other accesso-
ries for damage. If damage is detected, do not use the unit. Replace
defective components.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted input voltages (see
Technical Data).
Do not exceed the maximum permitted input values for the
separate measuring ranges.
Disconnect the probes from the tested component or circuitry
before manipulating the rotary function switch (10).
Conduct measurements over 60 V DC respectively 25 V AC only in
accordance with the applying safety regulations. Before connecting
the probes make sure the measured circuitry is voltage-free.
The degree of protection of the unit is IP67 (IP6X = dust proof /
IPX7 = protected against water when temporarily submerged).
Before using the unit in moist or wet environments make sure all
openings are closed. The sockets which are not used must be
sealed with the included plugs; the other openings are sealed
against entry of water by the plugs on the testing cables plugged
into them.
Insert the plugs on the measuring cables into the sockets deep
enough to seal out water and moisture.
Do not connect any kinds of power supply to the 10 A and the "µA,
mA, µF" inputs. Otherwise there is a danger of injury and damage
to the unit.
Conduct measurements only on isolated ground, in dry clothes and
if necessary in rubber shoes (or while standing on a rubber mat).
Do not touch metal parts.
Do not touch bare wires or voltage-carrying components while
taking measurements.
