3. Operating Elements and Connections
Function Key (4) "Mode"
With this key you can switch between the different function modes. In
the voltage and current measuring ranges it is used to switch between
alternating and direct current respectively voltage. On the left side of
the display, "AC" is shown for alternating voltage/current and "DC" for
direct voltage/current.
In the "V;
;
;Ω; CAP" ranges the key is used for switching between
the functions. After the unit is turned on, it is in the resistance meas-
urement mode. Press the key once to switch to the diode test mode,
press again to reach the continuity test with buzzer mode and then
press for a third time the reach the capacitance measuring mode. Press
for the fourth time to return to the resistance measuring mode.
Function Key (7) "REL" (Relative Measuring)
In this function relative measurements can be taken, i.e. the aberration
between two measured values is displayed and you can follow the
changing of a value. Proceed as follows: During measuring e. g. a
reference voltage or current is shown in the display (1). Press "REL" to
save the reference value and reset the display to "Zero". After that the
positive or negative aberration relative to the reference value is
displayed.
Upon pressing the key again "REL" disappears from the display and the
current value is displayed.
Function Key (8) "HOLD"
With this function you can "freeze" the current measured value in the
display (1). Press "Hold" during measuring to "freeze" the current value
in the display. "HOLD" is also displayed.
Press the key again to turn the function off; the current value is now
displayed.
